Project planning and delivery overview

Keep the project scope, manager, client, budget, start and end dates, and estimated hours together. Review delivery progress, open tasks, and upcoming deadlines from one project overview.

Project teams and task ownership

Build project teams from employee records and assign work to the people responsible. Give employees a personal task list and managers a view of team tasks.

Tasks, subtasks, and priorities

Break larger work into tasks and subtasks, set due dates, and choose Low, Medium, High, or Urgent priority. Track work through To Do, In Progress, In Review, Completed, On Hold, and Cancelled stages.

Milestones and upcoming delivery

Group tasks around project milestones and review upcoming, due-today, and overdue work. Keep delivery dates visible alongside the work needed to reach them.

Dependencies and recurring work

Connect tasks to their prerequisites so teams can see what needs to happen first. Use recurring schedules for work that repeats across daily operations.

Time tracking and timesheets

Record time against tasks with timers or manual entries, review timesheets, and compare logged hours with estimates. Keep project effort visible alongside delivery progress.

Workload and employee availability

Review employee workload and availability before assigning more work. Help managers distribute tasks with a clearer picture of team capacity and scheduling constraints.

Work reports and progress visibility

Review completed and open work, task status and priority distribution, and recorded effort. Keep work reports, comments, and project context available for follow-up.

Project & Task management FAQs

How projects, employee tasks, time tracking, and delivery progress fit together in NimuHR.

NimuHR connects project planning with daily task management. Teams can manage project details, employee assignments, milestones, tasks and subtasks, priorities, deadlines, time entries, timesheets, workload, and work reports.
Tasks can be used for standalone work or attached to a project. Employees can review their own tasks, while managers can use team task views to follow assignments and progress.
Project delivery progress compares completed top-level tasks with the total top-level tasks, excluding cancelled tasks. Subtasks support the work but do not inflate the project completion percentage.
Employees can record time against tasks using timers or manual time entries. Teams can review timesheets and compare logged hours with task and project estimates, including time recorded on subtasks.
Projects can have milestones with due dates and associated tasks. Task dependencies identify prerequisite work, while recurring schedules help teams manage work that repeats.
